About Davida

Welcome! My name is Davida Rappaport and I am a Los Angeles-based professional Intuitive. You can still refer to me as a Psychic, Clairvoyant, Sensitive, Medium, Channeler and/or Fortuneteller and I'll answer. I use these words more-or-less interchangeably and I am booked most often as a Psychic or Fortuneteller.

I inherited my abilities from my father, my first spiritual teacher. Through his love and support, I developed my abilities as a medium at his weekly meditation sessions (seances). It never occurred to me that my abilities would continue to grow and I would eventually become a spiritual teacher to others, too. I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

As a teenager, my mother encouraged my interests in palmistry, Tarot, handwriting analysis and numerology.

I started reading Tarot cards professionally at parties in 1980 and have never stopped, nor do I wish to. I no longer have the long hair and youthful skin I did in this photo, at left. I make up for it in experience and wisdom.

A few years later, I started a 12-year relationship with the late author and columnist, Jeffrey Zaslow. I coordinated a terrific group of psychics for his annual "Zazz Bash,"-- one of the largest, fund-raising, singles mixers in Chicago, which benefited the Chicago Sun-Times Charities. My little group of readers was always a hit! I miss Jeff very much and the fun we had working this fundraiser.

In 1994, I relocated to Los Angeles and established myself, once again, as an entertainment psychic on the event circuit. For a number of years, I gave lectures on spiritual matters at various body, mind and spirit-type expos, worked as a telephone psychic for one of the more respectable psychic 900-lines as part of a research project, and participated in a few, forgettable, television programs.

In 2006, I started teaching Tarot at Santa Monica College and Westside Extension as part of their community education programs.  I still teach regularly at Santa Monica College.

I attend Tarot symposiums, such as the San Francisco Bay Area Tarot Symposium ("SF BATs") and Northwest Tarot Symposium "(NeWTS"), to connect with my peers in the Tarot community, at least once a year. At these conferences, I get to visit with friends and make new ones -- artists, Tarot authors and researchers, and other Tarot professionals. These symposiums allow us to come together in fellowship and share our knowledge and passion for that wonderful deck of 78 cards we call Tarot.  We also experiment with other divination forms, such as oracle decks and Lenormand cards.  (Picture at left with my friend, the amazing artist, Beth Seilonen).

In 2013, I was invited to become an Inspirational Luminary and provide an essay for the website "Inspire Me Today(R)". My essay, "Staying on Target Despite Life's Obstacles" was re-posted by Gail Lynne Goodwin on the Care2 website. My love and passion for entertaining, enlightening and empowering people while reading Tarot, palms, seashells, handwriting and lipstick prints has grown exponentially over the years.

If you are looking for a practical, down-to-earth Intuitive (Psychic), give me a call.  I'd love to Entertain, Enlighten and Empower you and your guests with wit, humor and passion!
